GENERAL POKER STRATEGY
If you play poker online or at home with your friends you are aware of the hundreds of different versions of the game. Anyone can come up with a new adaptation and each variation comes with its own strategy. For example, in a game of five card stud a pair of aces is typically good enough to win the pot. However, in a game of seven card draw with a couple wild cards a pair of aces is a terrible hand and players who stay in with them will quickly lose their bankroll. The first strategic lesson to learn is how to play tight. Limit yourself to very few hands when you start playing and you will be able to stay even while learning the intricacies of the game. There is not much bluffing in Hi/Lo and people chase cards frequently...

In my opinion seven card stud is the toughest poker game to master. There are many cards to track and they often disappear very quickly. The game often moves slowly meaning you have to learn to remember the cards for long periods of time. It takes a sharp mind to remember each card and calculate the odds based on the ones you have seen since the start of the hand...
