GENERAL POKER STRATEGY - FLUCTUACTIONS

Fluctuations or standard deviation, good luck or bad, whatever you call it most poker players could do without it. Or could they?

We expect that without the element of luck in poker, the best players would always win and everyone else would always lose. Obviously, even the absolute worse poker players would soon realize this and stop playing and that would be the end of anyone making money playing poker.

A good thing to keep in mind when this happens to you, is that luck can win in the short run but skill always wins in the long run.

So next time you get a little streak of bad luck or whatever you call it, remember that's what keeps the donkeys coming back and that is what provides a profit for you.

Without luck there would be no poker or any other gambling, for that matter.
