GENERAL POKER STRATEGY - THE BLUFFING

For most lower limit games both live and internet, frequency of bluffing is a topic of much discussion.

Our thoughts on bluffing in lower limit games is this:

Don't

Our reasons are varied and many, but it basically boils down to this:

1. In most cases, in lower limit games most opponents won't fold, which is, of course, the object of bluffing, getting opponents to fold.

2. If you are doing it to advertise so you can collect later in the game, you are probably wasting your time as most lower limit players are not paying attention to your clever play. To compound this in internet play, the players you were bluffing are probably long gone by the time you get that great hand to collect on your previous bluff.

3. If the previous points are not enough, many weak lower limit players just limp in to see the flop with almost all kinds of hands and may actually have a great hand by the time you try your bluff.

Something to think about, isn't it?
