In my opinion seven card stud is the toughest poker game to master. There are many cards to track and they often disappear very quickly. The game often moves slowly meaning you have to learn to remember the cards for long periods of time. It takes a sharp mind to remember each card and calculate the odds based on the ones you have seen since the start of the hand.
Seven Card Stud is just one of those games you can only learn through experience. It seems to be very straightforward with little strategy, but that is not the case. If you are interested in learning this game I suggest starting at a very low limit table. Players at these tables often will call with anything and chase impossible hands so remember as you increase limits the players become tighter. As you discover things you need to remember write them down and review these notes as you play.
As you become better at Seven Card Stud you possess a huge advantage over average players. The really good players can make a lot of money, even at the lower limit tables. Work hard at this game and eventually it will pay off.
