Review of Party PokerParty Poker is by far the most popular poker site on the Internet today. Party Poker is very well known for their televised tournaments and eye catching commercials. The site regularly has over 70,000 players simultaneously on any given evening. I enjoy playing at Party Poker because it is simple to use and the customer service is excellent. Party Poker is the only site I have played at where a representative will call you to verify a deposit from your card was made by you. When it comes to security on the internet there can never be enough in my opinion.
The screen is simple and well designed. The player’s names and money are easily found. A checkbox allows you to select “Auto-Post Blind”. A very nice feature is the “Fold to any Bet” checkbox. When playing multiple tables you can click this option to Check or Fold throughout the rest of the hand; a real time-saver. Before the Flop and prior to your turn you can select to “Check/Fold”, “Call the BB”, or “Raise/Bet”. I would like to see Party Poker add a button which lets you call the current bet. This feature would save players some additional time spent waiting.
This process of signing up and depositing money at Party Poker is simple. A quick name, password, email selection allowed me to sign in and play the free tables. Another 2 minutes filling out name, address, and credit card information allowed me to start playing at the money tables. Deposits can be made with a credit card or various other internet banking deposit companies such as Neteller, IGM Pay, FirePay, and ePassport. Many credit card companies will not allow you to deposit directly to a poker site so do not be surprised if that option is unavailable to you.
The game play is fast compared to most other sites. The players are usually pretty good and hence play very quickly. Due to the sheer number of players you can find a competitive tight game, or a loose wild game. The limits range from very low to very high. The easiest tables to win money at are the $25 No-Limit tables. There are some very bad players here and it is a great place to learn the ropes of online poker. Party Poker has various game varieties. The site offers the most popular games including Hold’em, 7-Card Stud, Omaha and Hi/Lo varieties. This is what everyone is playing anyway, but if you are looking for something different you probably will not find it here. Omaha Hi/Lo is a fun game to play if you have not tried it. It is easy to learn and does not take a lot of strategy. To win you just have to play very tight.
The tournaments at Party Poker used to really be sub-par but lately the site has started hosting some of the best available. They are not overcrowded like the tourneys in the Prima-Poker network and the guaranteed prize purses are a nice feature. Nightly $5, $10, and $25 tournaments have between 550 and 1250 players.
I have personally always had large swings at Party Poker. I will win for a long time, and then do not get a hand for a month. The best strategy at this site it to stay within your limits, find a loose table, and play tight. You can win if you take advantage of the big hands and limit your losses.

Party Poker is by far the largest site on the internet. They were the first of the online poker sites to understand the effect television advertising could have on their player pool. They used regular advertising, as well as the Party Poker Million Cruise, their World Poker Tour event, that players players can win a seat in for as little as $7, to secure a foothold as the number one in online poker. They offer a variety of limits, but as of now do not have ultra high or low stakes games like some other sites (the smallest games they offer are ...
